Product Overview

ISOTEX’s FBC Thermic Fluid Heater — represents a breakthrough in thermic fluid heating technology. By incorporating inbed heat recovery within a fluidized bed combustion system, this heater delivers the highest thermal efficiency in its class at 85%, setting a new industry benchmark for solid-fuel fired thermic fluid heaters.

The incorporation of inbed heat recovery technology makes this heater outstanding in its class. Cooling coils embedded directly within the fluidized combustion bed extract heat at the point of generation — before it can escape through the flue. This results in phenomenal advantages including 85% thermal efficiency, 30% decrease in power consumption, and 25% reduced footprint area.

Automatic, mechanised fuel feeding ensures consistent performance in terms of temperature and heat output. The high turbulence of the fluidized bed facilitates quicker responses to changes in demand — performing like oil-fired systems in terms of responsiveness while operating on cost-effective solid fuels.

Fuel Options - Multi-Capability

The FBC Thermic Fluid Heater’s fluidized bed combustion technology enables efficient burning of a wide range of solid fuels — including high-ash and low-grade fuels that conventional heaters cannot handle effectively.

Primary Gas Fuel Options
Indonesian Coal

Primary fuel with Net Calorific Value (NCV) of 5,300 kcal/kg. Delivers consistent heat output with lower ash content and superior combustion characteristics in the fluidized bed

Rice Husk

Biomass fuel option with NCV of 3,300 kcal/kg. The system is uniquely capable of burning high-ash biomass fuels like rice husk with over 98% combustion efficiency.

Domestic Coal

Indian coal with higher ash content is handled effectively by the fluidized bed — the bed media (sand) catches unburnt particles and provides sufficient residence time for complete combustion.

High-Ash & Low-Grade Fuels

The system’s ability to burn high fines and low-grade fuels with high ash content is a key differentiator — reducing fuel procurement costs significantly while maintaining thermal efficiency.

Fuel Feeding System

Fully automatic, mechanised fuel feeding system

Consistent temperature and heat output under varying demand conditions

Eliminates manual feeding inconsistencies and labour dependency

Quick response to load fluctuations matching oil-fired system responsiveness

Technology Advantages

Technology Advantages of the FBC Thermic Fluid Heater

ISOTEX FBC thermic fluid heaters serve industries requiring reliable, cost-effective, high-temperature process heat — across major industrial sectors.

Inbed Heat Recovery Technology

The defining innovation of the Series. Cooling coils embedded directly within the fluidized combustion bed extract heat at the point of generation — before it can escape through the flue. Heat extraction from the combustor by cooling coils reduces excess air requirement for combustion and controls bed temperature. This results in 85% thermal efficiency, the highest in the thermic fluid heater category.

30% Lower Power Consumption

By extracting heat directly from the combustion bed, the system requires significantly less air handling. Reduced air requirement leads to lesser handling of air which, in turn, provides the advantage of reduced power consumption.

Automatic Online Soot Blowing

The integrated online soot blower system ensures continuous cleaning without shutdowns. This results in very low choking and minimal efficiency variation compared to manually cleaned conventional heaters — maintaining peak performance throughout the operating cycle.

Reduced Installation Footprint

Innovative compact engineering design reduces the installation area by 25% compared to conventional thermic fluid heaters. Ideal for brownfield projects, retrofit applications, and plants with floor space constraints — without compromising on capacity or efficiency.
